Ms. Canfield is a Technical Advisor and group manager at Muncy, Geissler, Olds & Lowe, P.C., specializing in design and plant patent applications, and also assisting in prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical and biotechnology fields. She prepares petitions before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and handles unusual and/or complicated patent prosecution matters, including Petitions to Accept Color Drawings, Petitions to Revive, Requests under Rule 48 Correcting Inventorship, non-signing inventors, reissue applications, Petitions to Make Special, Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH), QPIDS, third party submissions, etc. She has over 15 years of experience training others in both patent prosecution and administrative matters, and has prepared and/or given lectures on international PCT practice, US national stage practice, after-final practice, cost saving strategies for patent prosecution, unusual inventorship situations, and navigating the legal requirements of 37 CFR 1.84 for patent drawings.
