- Prior to joining MG-IP, Adesh was a Partner at regional and national law firms.
Adesh Bhargava has over 25 years of experience in intellectual property law, with experience in domestic and foreign patent procurement, patentability, infringement and licensing issues, intellectual property litigation, and related client counseling.
Adesh holds Master’s degrees in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. This background gives him a unique perspective in fully comprehending all aspects of clients’ inventions — from the mechanical “gear” level to the related controls and electronics levels. In this regard, Adesh has represented clients with inventions in the electrical and mechanical areas, as well as with several highly technical inventions that require cross-technical expertise in both disciplines. Adesh’s experience in the electrical and mechanical fields also gives him a unique perspective in providing qualified management of overall patent portfolios encompassing both disciplines.
On the prosecution front, Adesh has represented Fortune 100 and start-up companies in all aspects of intellectual property. Being a former Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, Adesh has a unique perspective on working with Patent Examiners to obtain allowance of cases in an efficient manner. His experience as a Design Engineer with Lockheed Martin Astronautics also gives him an understanding of the engineering complexities of inventions, and working with engineers and management at various levels of an organization.
On the litigation front, Adesh has represented clients before District Courts and the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences for a variety of electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical technologies, and is proficient at all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial strategies to depositions, discovery, negotiation, and settlement. Adesh has also represented clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and has successfully filed domain name complaints against infringing entities.
