Experience
Mr. Polit has over 30 years of experience in practicing intellectual property law. He has established and sustained long-term intellectual property goals of multinational corporations, mid-sized corporations, and start-ups through hands-on participation in intellectual property activities, including:
- Preparing patent applications in high technology arts;
- Preparing patent opinions;
- Litigating disputes in both direct and ancillary roles on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants;
- Appeals to the Federal Circuit and USPTO;
- Competitive analysis investigations;
- Technology licensing; and
- Tracking IP portfolios to target licensing and marketing opportunities.
Mr. Polit has practical knowledge and experience in RF system design, optical image sensors, memory storage devices, digital filters, speech recognition and enhancement systems, semiconductor devices and manufacturing, artificial intelligence/neural networks, software operating systems (including microkernel OS designs), real-time software, embedded systems, high-speed parallel processing architectures, radar guidance systems, and electronic countermeasures. He has litigated patent infringement actions relating to semiconductor devices/manufacturing, printer technology, medical devices, and hand-held calculators.
In addition to his law practice experience, Mr. Polit has engineering experience with Northrop Defenses Systems where he helped develop electronic countermeasure systems for the F-15 fighter jet.
